De-construction update

Just while I have a few minutes as I wait for John to pick me up, I wanted to mention the latest bit of craziness that I forgot to report. Our drunken electricians didn't leave enough wire hanging out of the various outlets in the house in a few places, so they can't actually connect them. To fix this problem — which somehow passed inspection — they had to rip out parts of the wall today in three of our rooms to pull out more of the wire. That means they had to tear out the drywall and break through our foam insulation to try and find the wires they're looking for.

Yep, it's as bad as it sounds.

So sorry to hear that you guys.

Most people will, sooner or later, get screwed by contractors. Unfortunate and infuriating, yes. Surprising, no. Your future buyers, however, will likely be quite pleased with the finished product.

Perhaps a little voodoo doll therapy is in order? I'll make a mini-electrician out of a toilet paper roll and some pipe cleaner... not forgetting to douse it in beer before ceremoniously placing it in the woodstove.

Seriously, though - I'm so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you.

I was so happy at first to see some new posts, but how quickly that changed. I am so sad that this is not coming together as hoped. I agree with your dad that this is completely unforgiveable!
